Breakfast at the new Calgary Tiffany’s

10 May

Last week, Chris and I attended a breakfast to celebrate the opening of Tiffany & Co.’s first stand-alone store in Calgary. If you haven’t stopped by Chinook Centre yet to check it out, it’s worth a visit next time you’re at the mall.

The beautiful store is full of beautiful jewelry. And, on the day of the opening, it was full of beautiful people, like this Tiffany’s girl:

We had a friend take a couple of shots of us but couldn’t decide which photo we liked best, hence these two:

There’s something about being in a Tiffany’s store that makes you feel all romantic.

On that note, before the store officially opened at 9:30 a.m., eager shoppers were waiting out front. We happened to notice one guy in particular, who looked to be in his mid-30s and was nursing a coffee, and had a gut feeling that he’d make a beeline for the engagement rings after the doors opened.

Sure enough, as soon as the Tiffany’s crew cut the ribbon, he went straight to the rings. We would’ve loved to ask him a question or two and blog about it, but we wouldn’t want to spoil his girl’s romantic moment. So, we watched from afar for a minute, excited for him and his soon-to-be fiancee, and went on our merry way.

But not before picking out a couple of things to covet, like this Paloma Picasso “Love” necklace, for $695:

And this Tiffany Notes “Dream A Little Dream” bangle:

I will dream a little dream that, someday, these pieces magically appear in my jewelry box.
